Who We Are

Guelph and District Labour Council (GDLC) is a dedicated organization that unites multiple local unions to advocate for workers’ rights and improve working conditions within our community and beyond. We engage in lobbying government officials, promoting workers’ health and safety, and participating in community initiatives and coalitions. Our mission also includes educating the public on labour issues, supporting local organizing efforts, and fostering worker education programs. GDLC plays a vital role in implementing provincial and national trade union policies at the community level, ensuring that workers’ voices are heard and their interests protected.

Recognizing that our members live and work here, we invest our time, talent, and treasure in community initiatives to build a brighter future for everyone.

We are active members of the Ontario Federation of Labour

We are also members of the Canadian Labour Congress
