GDLC hosts Day of Mourning

April 24, 2024

Please join us at Goldie Mill Park starting at 1pm as we recognize those that have been hurt, injured or killed on the job.

The event will feature speakers and musicians including representatives from the Ontario Network of Injured Workers Group (ONIWG), Tina MacPherson Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC), Nicole Clark(GDLC President), Janice Folk-Dawson (Former OFL Executive Vice President) and music provided by the Snipetz and James Gordon.

A special Rose Dedication ceremony will be part of the program, symbolizing the loss and resilience of those impacted by workplace tragic incidents. This poignant tribute allows community members to pay their respects and honour the memory of those who have tragically lost their lives.

Immediately following the ceremony, all are invited to join us at Diana’s, a local gathering place where attendees can come together to share some food and reflect on the day’s events, network with fellow advocates and discuss
future strategies to ensure safe and healthy work environments for all.
